Watchers

  • Mood: Bemused
  • Listening to: The girls next to me watching the Rock of Love Bus
  • Reading: Jim Hensons's Designs and Doodles and Don Quixote
  • Watching: very little since Spring Break
Yay! New work added! As always, sorry for taking so long to update. Sooooo Busyyyyyy!
Anyway, back in December I wrote about how I had a very difficult semester due to contracting Lyme Disease and how I was hoping for better times in the future. Well, so far this semester I've been feeling much better. I'm afraid of jinxing it, but I think I actually feel better physically than I have in three years, ever since I was diagnosed with my thyroid disorder and CFS. I still have my bad days and I still require a lot of sleep but I'm not nearly as achey and my energy level is so much higher than it was.
Schools going well. It's still really challenging and I'm still always busy but I'm really enjoying my classes and, for the most part, I'm doing well in them. I had a crit the other day in Illustration 2 on what is probably the best illustration work I've ever done (a project on the Oscars. I'll probably upload it, soon). My Visual Journalism class is a lot of fun and a great excuse to get out and go places and just draw from observation. I always really look forward to my Chivalry class and love all the readings and our discussions. History of Animation has given me a great look into the animation world and I've had the opportunity watch a lot of awesome old cartoons and short films. I switched out of DIY the second week of school and into Professional Practices of the Visual Artist. It isn't something I'd have normally signed up for but I'm glad I did. My class goes on field trips every week to visit artist's studios and residencies and hear talks and our homework is always stuff I should be doing anyway: refining my resume, writing an artist's statement, defining my artistic goals, etc.
I'm not doing much outside of school: I work 8 hours a week in the Student Activities Office. I occasionally get together with friends. I look at a lot of crap online ^_-. I was a tranny in MICA's first production of a shadow screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, not too long ago, and tomorrow I have a meeting to determine whether I will be an orientation leader for the freshman in the Fall.
Oh Fall, don't come too soon! It's just starting to warm up! I'm so glad to be rid of winter! It's still trying to hang around in Baltimore but blossoms are blooming and grass is greening and it all makes me that much happier to be alive.

So that's it. Please forgive me for not spending more time on dA. There are a lot of great artists here and  think its a great place to be. Sometimes it take me a while to reply to comments but I almost always do, eventually, and whether I reply or not I really appreciate them.
